It started when Marco's wife had their daughter Giulia and Marco got worried about their baby's future. Then Marco and Sam shared the vision that the planet was in pretty bad shape and business had to change. So Sam and Marco started looking for positive alternatives for the business they both knew inside out - hotels. They dreamed a little. Then they thought a lot. They bounced their ideas off Jaron. They learned from him what worked and what didn't. The three of them wanted fully sustainable hotels BUT they didn't want to come across all doom and gloom. They wanted stylish contemporary interiors BUT comfort was also a big deal. They wanted healthy food choices BUT lots of playful touches. They wanted a lot, frankly. Anyhow, lots of other stuff went on that we don't have time to go into here but, eventually, Conscious was born.
