A beloved fixture in San Jose del Cabo, Los Cabos, Mexico since 1983, Damiana Restaurant occupies a mid 18th century hacienda with two air-conditioned intimate dining salons and an outdoor rear patio dominated by an enormous, century old bougainvillea. At night the tree is lighted and becomes one of the most romantic courtyards in Los Cabos. The menu is a blend of Continental and Mexican inspired creations; for starters, the Tortilla Soup is loaded with chicken in a light, savory broth. The Imperial Shrimp Steak, cited by Bon Appetit magazine, a filet of large succulent shrimp knit together and grilled to perfection is popular, as is Abalone Ajillo, done in a garlic and chile sauce. For dessert, try Kahlua and Flan with a special coffee.
