Los Islotes consists of a couple of guano covered, craggy islands located at the northern end of Espiritu Santos island. These islands are home to a large colony of California sea lions that, on most days, you can snorkel, dive, and swim with. The water next to the islands is about 6 feet deep and gets much deeper as you move away from it. Your guide should warn you not to try to get on the land as the males will become very territorial. Tours to Los Islotes are often bundled with a tour of Isla Espiritu Santos. Most will provide snorkel gear if you don't have your own.

Not quite as awesome as whale watching at Magdalena Bay, but this was definitely worth it. It was very intimidating at first. The sea lions are very big and very playful. They would bolt right at you and when they were about a foot away, they would show their teeth and quickly whip around and go the other way. At one point, I had one on either side of me and the ysandwiched me steering me around. That was a little scary as I had no control at all. Truth is they seem to be very friendly and are having a good time playing with you. Ouir tour included a trip around Espiritu Santo. This is one of those "must do" attractions in La Paz.
