Good times come with a ready smile at this festive restaurant, which satisfies local tastes with Arizona-styled Mexican food. An abundant menu offers everybody's favorite dishes, including enchiladas, tostadas, tamales, and tacos. Fish dishes, adorned with fresh salsas, are also delicious, and combination plates are available too. Add in a well-mixed margarita - especially if you decide to sit out on the deck - and you'll get an immediate, authentic feel for life in Red Rock Country.

Javelina's is very popular, like a Chili's or EL Torito back in the day.
I thought the food was much like that, also. Very Americanized mexican food. Not horrible, just not very authentic. The energy was fun, though.

We had a very hard time finding this restaurant, so here you go.. It is located in the Hillside shopping center just south of the Y on highway 179. It is located in the building at the far north end of the complex. The sign is nearly impossible to see from the road.
Anyway, Javelina is a festively decorated restaurant that mostly offers American style mexican food. Reservations are a great idea because this place is packed. We were seated after about 20 minutes (no res). My mother ordered a Margarita with no salt, but was brought one with salt. They brought her a new one, but both with salt and without, their margaritas are worse than average and I wouldn't order one there. I ordered a combo plate with a beef taco, corn tamale, and cheese enchilada. Initially, I was brought the wrong plate, but they corrected that pretty quickly. Everything on my plate was good, but simply not as good as the food we had at Casa Rincon the night before with a couple of exceptions.. First, I like the refried beans better at Javelina as well as their Chile Relleno (I tried my wife's). Other than that, Casa Rincon completely owns this place in taste, service, ambience, drinks, etc... Go there instead.
