Waimea Canyon
Waimea is the largest canyon in the Pacific. It measures at about 10 miles long, 1 mile wide, and more than 3,500 feet deep. The canyon was formed by the incision of Waimea River flowing from the summit of Mount Wai'ale'ale. It is a stunning canyon with ribbons of colors dancing on the canyon's peaks and valleys. There are numerous waterfalls to hike to, and stunning vistas to take photos of. You can drive to many viewpoints, and there are numerous hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult inside the canyon itself.

Waimea canyon should not be missed. I have been to Kauai five times, and we go to Waimea canyon every time. Outside of the oustanding vistas Waimea has abundant hiking trails. The hiking trails will get you away from the heavily used viewpoints and provide unique vantage points to this impressive canyon. The trails can be quite difficult, but the payoff is worth it. When visiting the canyon keep going all of the way to the top on the canyon road. This will take you to the Na Pali viewpoint, which on a sunmy day will provide you with one of the best views of Na Pali.

An incredible canyon - hard to believe when seeing it that the Grand Canyon is bigger. Beautiful hikes to do, waterfalls, and scenic overlooks. A must do...
