Kalypso Island Bar and Grill
In 2005, two long time friends, Jacques Pautrat and Jim Mehta decided to acquire a well-known landmark on the north shore of Kauai - known then as Zelos Restaurant.

With Jacques 20+ years of experience in the food industry and Jim's 15+ years experience in the business community, they were able to parlay together their talents and their new-found love for the island, into a business partnership. Under their supervision, the restaurant was remodeled and renamed Kalypso Island Bar & Grill.

Additionally, new recipes were created by Jacques and Kalypso's current manager Flavia LaGrazia, to cater to both tourists and locals alike. It is their goal to create a fun, happy, and delicious experience for all those who enter Kalypso.......... and keep them coming back!!

Kalypso's is probably a better bar than a Grill. The drinks are pretty good and the food is fair. Plenty of televisions for watching sports. This place can get busy on the eves and weekends.

I think this was the first place that we ate after arriving in Kauai in 2007. I don't remember too much about it other than I had Opakapaka for the first time and I thought it was pretty good. Apparently, this place didn't make a long lasting impression, hence the average rating.
