Point Campground is located adjacent to gorgeous Redfish Lake beneath the Sawtooth Mountain Range at an elevation of 6,500 feet, and is conveniently close to Stanley, Idaho, only six miles away. Summer wildflowers are plentiful, lodgepole pines provide partial shade, and Fishhook Creek is nearby. Temperatures are cool, with an average summer high of 78 F, and a low of 40 F. Point is in the heart of the beautiful Sawtooth National Recreation Area, where outdoor activities abound. Redfish Lake offers excellent boating, waterskiing, canoeing/kayaking, and fishing for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon. A designated swimming beach and dock are located onsite. Little Redfish Lake is just down the road with more fishing and canoeing.
This campground provides flush toilets, potable water, and garbage service, but no electricity. Roads and parking spurs are paved.. Most sites have lake views. Sites 1-8 are tent-only, and campers must walk a short distance from the parking area. Handcarts are provided for carrying gear. Sites 10-17 are for tents, trucks with campers, and vans ONLY. NO motor homes or trailers (including pop-up tent trailers). Sandy Beach Boat Ramp is across the lake about a mile away, and an RV dump station is nearby. There is a public day use area adjacent to the site.
