It’s been said that the art of Jamie Hayes captures the true spirit of New Orleans. His whimsical style and stunning colors are instantly recognizable and known the world over. An interesting fact is that Jamie is extremely color blind. The “hair” on his characters, made up of small round circles, represent color blind tests. This may be the reason he uses such vibrant colors when he paints. Jamie’s work is collected by the famous and infamous as well as his many loyal fans all over the world. Jamie is best known for deigning Mardi Gras and music festival posters. Most recently he designed some really fun voodoo dolls for the NBA New Orleans Hornets. The official Hornets Voodoo dolls have their logos, a a loud squeaker and special instructions. They will be given away to everyone attending one of the upcoming play off games in hopes of putting a little “New Orleans style” voodoo on the opposing team.
