Food is really fantastic, service is slow.
This is a place that generates a clientele from the truly fabulous food, period. You dont go there for the catering service, the quick tend to, the cocktails, the ambience, the scene... everyone that is there for the same reason: Really great thai food.

It is impossible for me to imagine Thai food better than this, and I don't believe that it exists. I have been here several times and everything I have had has been great. You need to be very careful with their heat scale... You might assume that since it goes from 1 to 20 that 10 would be medium heat, but you would be wrong. A 5 is as hot or hotter than you would get anywhere else in Portland. Grown men trying to impress their company have wound up crying in their food after not heeding the waiter's warnings. I have a pretty decent tolerance for heat, and I can do a maximum of 4. On the downside, the service at Lemongrass is VERY slow so do not go there if you are in a hurry. They other problem is that on weekends it gets very crowded and since they don't take reservations, you will have to wait quite a while. But the food is definitely worth it.
